There is no rush. Take your time. Start by having a shower or bath with all your favourite products. Feeling good about yourself and being spotless when you go to your altar is essential. Dress comfortably, and wear your favourite perfume or cologne, makeup or jewellery.
Set the mood with your favourite music that makes you happy. Keep the volume on a level that you can still hear yourself breathe and be able to concentrate. Light incense or smudge the area and clean up your altar workspace.
You will need in this order:
- A bowl of water or melted snow if you have it available.
- One candle with your actual favourite colour, or a white one.
- A bowl of soil, sand, leaves, or rocks. The quantity should be enough to sink your hands inside.
How to Perform Your Magic Ritual?
Place these elements in front of you in a row. You will begin with water and end with earth. Take your time, go slow, and pay attention to your emotions. Lit the candle and surround yourself with your favourite colour light. Sit with your hands in an open prayer position
1. Start washing your hands in the water, and as you do this, start chanting
“I’m washing my hands clean of ……….
Insert all your problems one after another from the past year. Keep doing this until you feel you can move on.

“I’m burning away ………
Insert the same problems that you said in the water bowl. Keep doing this until your hands are thoroughly dry and you can feel them warming up. Blow out the candle.
3. Open your hands and look at them. Start using your breath and blow it onto your hands. Between each breath, say
“I’m blowing away……
Repeat as many times as you like. There is no right or wrong amount of time.
Put your hands into the bowl of soil and truly envision how your troubles are pulled out of you and taken away. As you do this, you will say
“I’m giving back to the earth so this …….may stay dead and buried away.
Repeat your words from above. Keep doing this until you feel you can move on.
Once you are done, take the water and the candle and add them to the second bowl. Find a fast-moving stream of water, a crossroad, or a graveyard and remove the contents. If you leave it at a cemetery, give an offering on the way out.
